I feel fantastically lucky to have the family and friends that I do.
I’m fully aware that out financial situation at the moment sucks since mam and I had to stop working and my dad can only do part time. Yet they still managed to get me a laptop for uni, plus pay the £300 accommodation deposit and buy me a dress for the Freshers Ball. Both my sets of grandparents have got together to get me toiletries, bed stuff, kitchen utensils - everything I could possibly need.
Every month my mother said she’ll send me a few vital foodstuffs if I run low, my neighbours are giving me £40 per month for backlogged house-sitting I’ve done for them. They’ve offered to pay for my freshers wristband and pay for my first shop when I move in.
On top of that both my sister and myself got spending money when we went away to two music festivals.
Reading through some of the finance threads on TSR makes me really appreciate how much these people have done, and continue to do, for me in the run up to university. I know we ain’t got much, but what we’ve got is damn special. And I’m really amazingly grateful for all the emotional (and also financial) help I have.

I’m a very happy camper.
